Internationally renowned photographer/filmmaker Bruce Weber has delivered a second film with LET'S GET LOST. The film was nominated for the Academy Award for best documentary and became a sensation at various international film festivals.
The documentary, which takes its title from one of Chet Baker's musical pieces, deals with the life of this now-deceased jazz musician.
Director Bruce Weber, cameraman Jeff Preiss and crew traveled with Chet Baker from the west to the east coast of America and then to Europe during Baker's last year of life. Weber interspersed some of Baker's final recording sessions on film with excerpts from Italian B-movies starring the young Chet Baker, rare TV recordings and candid interviews with Baker, musicians, friends, ex-wives and children. In this way, the director has made a compelling and penetrating film in which several aspects of Baker and his music come to 'ears.
