In 2002, Interpol was the forerunner of the wave New York rock bands that were influenced audibly through the post-punk and new wave of the early eighties. With The Cure-like guitars, voice synthesizers and gloomy, Ian Curtis reminiscent vocals Interpol managed to create a dark but catchy sound.
