One of the founders of the torch was born in Rotterdam in 1883. Louis David grew up in a Jewish family funfair and get the love of singing and dancing all grew up with. In 1909 David leaves for the first time for a tour to England where he gain many ideas for his revue shows in the Netherlands. He translates English songs in Dutch and has thrived with it. With his songs Little Man If You Are Born For A Dime David expresses in the thirties flawlessly the sense of crisis of the Dutch. Louis Davids also takes a number of duets with his younger sister Heintje Davids. Louis dies in 1939, a few months before the outbreak of World War II. more
