Filmbieb backgrounds

Feature films and documentaries on DVD - in particular the Dutch product - occupy a special place within the library. Compared to 2005, the national collection has almost doubled in size and loans. However, extra attention is required for this collection item.

Many libraries consider moving this materials to the warehouse or selling it. Eventually the film as part of the collection could completely disappear. Muziekweb therefore collects as many film collections as possible from libraries (and individuals) in order to preserve this important Dutch cultural heritage and make it accessible to the public.

Members of public libraries in the Netherlands can borrow the DVDs via Filmbieb. Trailers can also be viewed via the site and background information about the films and series is provided.
